Anthony Bourdain, Alice Waters and Duff Goldman

  1. School lunch is NOT FREE. There is a taxpayer somewhere paying for it. Let's make an effort to serve healthy food, but if you are rich enough to HAVE KIDS, you are rich enough to pay for their meals. So, the key is figuring out how to serve fresh food at a reasonable cost. Perhaps that means being more efficient at a local level about where the food comes from. Instead of ordering food at a district level for 65 schools, each school orders it's own locally. Food cost goes up, but transportation cost goes down. It should be easy to do in Ireland, harder to do inner-city in the united states, but not impossible.
